The Force: Volkswagen :
In this one minute long commercial, it used emotional appeal and endorsement nearly perfectly. It had a small kid play the role of Darth Vader and attempted to use the force, which is basically having the motive to move everything with your hand, on everything, including his lunch.Once his dad had came home in a beautiful Volkswagen he tried to use the force on that. He turned it on and it seemed real, although it was just the dad from inside the house who turned it. This was how endorsement was used, and I really enjoyed this part of the ad. It used emotional appeal because it was very humorous and happy, humorous because of the kid Darth Vader trying to use force and happy because of the dad willing to let him have fun with having him think that he was the one who turned the car on in the first place. This helps sell products because people may enjoy the fact that it was funny and want to use the Volkswagen to impress friends by trying this trick that doesn't work. Darth Vader also helps the fact that the Volkswagen may sell because some Star Wars fans may buy it because of him.
(This video is the commercial named "The Force: Volkswagen commercial" and has the small boy being Darth Vader, attempting to use the force. This immediately causes the use of emotional appeal because people may laugh on how he was a kid trying to basically do "magic". It creates a stir on peoples minds on how they think he can do such a thing. Darth Vader being a character in this advertisement causes it to have some amount of endorsement, which also may get more people to buy this product. Endorsement is used, in my opinion, perfectly in this ad.)
Do you care what I think?:
I enjoyed this commercial because of the ways that they used their techniques. Endorsement was used greatly because it didn't go too deep into it, and it very lightly and smoothly touched it which really added more if there was a real celebrity. Emotional appeal was connected into this advertisement also since it was a very funny and humorous advertisement. The strategies that were used helped people want to buy the product because they would think that if these people could have fun with the car, they can also (emotional appeal). Some Darth Vader fans may dig this car because of how Star Wars was implemented in this (Endorsement)!
The target audience would obviously be adults. The reason being is that many adults use cars for transportation. Kids for one can't afford cars and two they aren't able to drive! Kids would watch this ad just to watch it, but not to buy the product. Senior citizens , except a few, aren't supposed to drive because of their age and health. I assume the commercial will be successful because of how they used emotional appeal and endorsement. Endorsement and emotional appeal will grab many people to their side and see what they see about the Volkswagen. It already has over three million views on YouTube!
Top Ten List for Emotional Appeal Advertisements:
1. Rat
Emotional Appeal:
This advertisement is not endorsement but emotional appeal, and it showed a great example of one. It showed what happen when the rat was trapped while attempting to eat the cheese.. This may have caused a stir in the audience (people watching television) because they have been sad that this rat had almost died. Then, all of a sudden , it started breathing and you can notice that the rat was still moving its still breathing, and then since it DID eat a small chunk off, the rat starting lifting. This was the funny part, and it shows how that brand of cheese can create miracles.
2. Pepsi commercial
Emotional Appeal:
This Pepsi commercial was spectacular and includes a lot of foreshadowing. It has one small kid that was growing up who shaved his head bold with multiple Chinese monks and he was training to become an adult.
It has foreshadowing because in the beginning you'd probably have no idea what that mark was on all their heads, but at the end you would finally figure out, which was funny. Emotional appeal was used because in the beginning no one knows and people were sad/happy for the monks, also wondering why they had a symbol on their head.
3. Nike
Emotional Appeal:
This advertisement shows an amazing example of emotional appeal because of how they explain what this teenager was doing. He was explaining greatness, in which ways that no one would ever think of before. How the jogger is one person who can achieve "greatness", something that is earned, not given. I enjoyed this commercial because it shows sadness, how people are just watching, not doing, unlike this fine man who is jogging. Nike has great commercials and this was one of them.
4. AT&T
Emotional Appeal:
This commercial is an okay one because it shows what kids perspective on such small detail of a phone. I think that this commercial was good just not for the right cause, because bigger sometimes isn't better. I'd rather have a decent sized phone with a better processing system, right? It shows emotional appeal because people would laugh how these small kids, who are relating the "detail" to something else, think about these things. I would rate this commercial a 2/5 or 3/5 for selling the product, and although it was funny, I didn't enjoy it all so much.

This advertisement shows an amazing example of emotional appeal because of how they explain what this teenager was doing. 5. Verizon
Emotional Appeal:
This commercial had a powerful approach just like the Nike ad. It gives off emotional appeal because it gives hope for future life on how you should always try to have perfect attendance, like the kid in the video. It is trying to explain that buy showing how people who buy from the Verizon brand are already capable of that. I enjoy this ad and I would totally buy this product.
6. Doritos
Emotional Appeal:
This ad was very good and even starred during the ads of a Super Bowl. This shows a lot of emotional appeal and even some bandwagon. This is because it twisted peoples emotions because of A- a camel with an addiction to Doritos sold to someone who also is addicted to Doritos and B- The person who was selling it was hurt it some way. I enjoyed this ad and it created some laughs for me.
7. Seat Belt
Emotional Appeal:
This shows what happens if you do not put your seat belts on. It sends you on a thrill ride, that's for sure, because it was very sad. It shows how these few people died/almost died because of their seat belts and being completely careless. I liked this ad because it shows what could happen because of that. It was mournful and it changed your feelings right away even though it didn't show a specific product in particular, rather an idea.
8. Kit - Kat
Emotional Appeal:
Kit - Kat made a decent advertisement by showing how babies and other children react to even the sight of this delicious chocolate. Kit - Kat made it an okay example for one with emotional appeal because it people may have laughed at the fact at how the babies were dancing. Once this future - doctor entered the room with the Kit - Kat, they all started dancing in joy even though they hadn't received any, which seemed somewhat corny. I would recommend this ad to anyone who would want to buy candy.
9. Honda

Emotional Appeal:
This ad was great and made me wondering. It showed emotional appeal because of how amazed you might feel and how this really happened, even though it was just special effects. It showed people what kind of cars they had (also planes) and how some of them started up. This ad was creative and one that people would enjoy it it aired on a television!
10. Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S4 Phone is amazing. Literally. This showed all of the features with emotional appeal because of the way it changed your emotions, from (insert emotion here) to amazed. These features were scary to notice how fast the societies were developing such technology! I would totally buy one of these phones if I were older just because of the great commercial.
Finally and Lastly:
