Events in 2013

The Bad Ones:

Many harmful, scary events happened in 2013, once we'd never forget. Right after one finished, another one appeared. It was completely bizarre. Some bad events that had happend were:
  • The death of Paul Walker
  • The death of Nelson Mandela
  • Boston Marathon
  • Hurricane Haiyan
There were also many more, but these were the main ones that the US had to conquer. We hope we have a better year in 2014 !

My opinion:

I will be focusing on only one of these subjects, which is the Boston bombing. The Boston was when there was a marathon that had been bombed by two young criminals. It had been nearly finished and about 3 people died while 11+ injured. The U.S.A were on the case of the suspects until they finally found them acting suspicious. It had been near weeks until they actually had confirmed that it was then, which was when one of the victims had killed two police officers. It was a sad month, and many people have a bad mind about holding another one of these marathons.

In Conclusion:

This was a very short blog post, but I still hoped you enjoyed. Question of the week: What did you think was the worst event in 2013? Leave a comment and I hope you enjoy next weeks blog!

Rare Rhino

                                       Rare Rhinos

This is what a rhino looks like and
where they live, assuming near a lake
and also near jungles.

     Introduction:

How rare are rhinos really? Actually, there's only a few thousand in Africa, and they're endangered. Rhino's name is after they're incredibly large horns, and the rhinoceros' name is also in Greek for "nose", and on their nose is a horn. People in asia kill rhinos for their horns, which are used for medicine  and to hand on their beloved walls. Rhino horns are continued to be sold, and could be sold for over three times the cost of gold on the black market! Illegal poaching is very illegal, although people still do it these days.

My Opinion:

Rhinos are great creatures and shouldn't be hunted the way they are currently. People kill them just for the money, which is very unreliable as soon the price will decrease and the rhino population is going down to zero. Once they are extinct, we'd have one less species on the Earth, which may seem like nothing, but seeing how rhinos are so known it'd be dreadful. I also think they should be preserved and held somewhere special with acres of land where none can touch them, or even think of harming them.
They'd be peaceful and we'd not have to worry about them going extinct.

We may hurt them on sight because they enormous and frightening, although they're scared of us. They may charge at us because of self-defense, but then we'd just kill them and move on with it. We should leave them alone so this shouldn't happen. They're even vegetarians usually, eating grass and leaves. If people think they can get away with killing these innocent creatures, they should think again. They wouldn't die without a fight!

Top Five List:

1. The White Rhino
This type of rhino has a large horn and weird shaped ears. They also have wide mouths which is able to eat a lot of grass and leaves at once.

2. The Black Rhino
The black rhino are very endangered and being carried around to safer places. They have narrow mouths that make it easier to pull leaves and grass.

3.Sumatran Rhino
The Sumatran Rhino was the smallest species in the rhino family. There are lower than 400  of Sumatran Rhinos.
4. Javan Rhino

The Javan Rhino also has 100 animals left only. They also have very poor eyesight.

5. Great One-Horned Rhino
These animals, obviously, only have one horn. Also, it has is the biggest species of rhinos.

Top Five Foods Rhino's Eat:

1.Grass
Grass is the main diet that rhinos eat. Most rhinos eat 40% of this for their diet.

2. Twigs
Rhinos eat twigs. MANY twigs. They also eat small branches and such for their diet.

3. Leaves
This is the other part of rhinos diet. They eat this as grass depletes, and is usually as a backup.

4. Soy
Rhinos in captivity eat soy. Soy is usually beans and is also very nutritious

5. Alfalfa
This is the secondary food that rhinos eat. This is a type of flower.

Conclusion:

Rhinos should not be hunted any further. They should be preserved and live a completely happy life.

Question of the week: Do you think that rhinos should be held in the zoos or stay free in the jungle? Post in the comments below.

As always, post in the comments below and keep researching rhinos! Also, visit your local zoo and see their massive size in action. Thanks for reading!
